Hanko

Availability of skilled workforce

Approximately 150 000 people live within a 75 km range from the city of Hanko. Within a 30 km range of the site (Hanko and Raasepori regions), there are circa 20 comprehensive education schools and five further education colleges. The schools have established extensive collaboration with local vocational colleges and polytechnic universities.

Degree programmes in the fields of automobiles and transport, automation, and logistics are offered locally. The educational institutions in the area have proven themselves able to adapt to demands, regarding the skills of local labour, very swiftly, offering tailored degrees and study paths.

Within 100 kilometres from Hanko, there are also other vocational colleges available in Salo, polytechnic universities in Salo, Turku and Espoo, and traditional universities in the regions of Helsinki (Aalto University, Helsinki University) and Turku (Åbo Akademi University, Turku School of Economics, University of Turku).
